Last week I made my first trip to Audrey Ryan’s loft in Somerville. Audrey is a one woman powerhouse singer songwriter who contributes to Somerville’s little known DIY music scene. When she’s not touring her and her friends will host indie rock, folk, and a myriad of other genre shows at a beautifully set up artist loft housed in a revamped factory.
My reason for making the trip? To see Rhode Island’s Brown Bird, an Americana folk outfit fronted by Dave Lamb with rhythm and backing help from MorganEve Swain. MorganEve’s actually going to be lending some Cello help to Worcester’s Eye Witness on their much anticipated debut album. Unfortunately Rainy and Milo of Eye Witness couldn’t make the trip out to Somerville and paid dearly for it on my signed copy of Brown Bird’s The Devil Dancing record:
